Mrs Parkinson Retires
Brantwood
said a sad goodbye to Mrs Janet Parkinson, our Kitchen Supervisor on the
25th of May. She has retired after 22 years working for Brantwood School
which she
describes as being like a second home. Janet has been a loyal supporter
of the school,
going the extra distance to help at school events, always the first person
to arrive
every day, and of course, producing thousands of meals over the years. She
is
particularly proud of achieving her 4* rating from the Local Authority.
Girls, staff
and parents have long appreciated Janet’s baking skills and her celebration
cakes for birthdays, anniversaries and weddings taste as good as they look.
Typical of Janet’s generosity, every year she has donated an impressive
Pudsey Bear cake to raise funds for Children in Need.
Last year Janet became a grandmother and she is looking forward to being able to spend more time with her grandson. She told girls in a special assembly, when we presented her with flowers and a gift from the school, that she will of course miss the girls and her colleagues, Mrs Milner, Mrs Pigott and Mrs Jackson, who have all become close friends.
Everyone at Brantwood wishes Mrs Parkinson a happy retirement and sends
their
grateful thanks for all her hard work and commitment to the school.
